2 How Do You Define A. . . LEADER: A person who leads as a guide

3 Types of Leaders There are all kinds of leaders – good, bad, old, young. Rick - Spanky – from our gang – what leadership skills he had, at such a young age. The kids in his gang did anything he said. Carolyn – Martin Luther King Cedric – Maxwell Smart Rick: Lebron James – he was a star, a hero. Lost the last playoff game and fell from grace – the point here – leaders are human and sometimes fail to do the right thing. Carolyn - Peter Pan/Wendy Cedric - Fidel Castro Rick - Dad – leaders don’t have to be famous or superstars – they can come from unusual places too. 4 SERVANT-LEADERSHIP Who is a Servant-Leader?
The servant-leader is servant first…It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. A servant-leader is simply a leader who is focused on serving others. A servant-leader loves people and wants to help them. 7 What Are The Challenges Faced When You Follow the Leader?
Rick’s slide Following the leader does come with its own set of problems/challenges: Peer Pressure Brown Noser “Us” versus “Them” (Managers) Discuss the items above and ask for situations when participants have followed a leader in spite of the challenges that were presented. 8 What Is The Cost When You Do Not Follow The Leader?

Cedric’s slide Unethical Illegal/Immoral Against Your Religious Beliefs Against the IRM Ask the participants for other examples of times you should not follow the leader.

10 Why Is It Important to Follow Your IRS Leader?

11 Following the Leader – What Is In It For Me?
