1 Ski Trip – key information
Summary from Parents’ Meeting.

2 Travel Arrangements Departing
Students arriving at GCA: 02:45 – 24th March (Early hours on Saturday!) Coach departing at GCA: 03:00 – 24th March Check in time at Manchester: 05:15 Departure time from Manchester: 07:15 (Flight no: FR3218) Arrival at Bergamo Airport: 10:25 Arrival at Hotel Kapriol: 15:30 In order to make the journey pass more quickly, it is a good idea to take books, games, cards, mp3 players. DVD’s etc., but please no large stereos! We also recommend that you bring your own choice of DVD’s / videos. We suggest to parents that they supply picnics, snacks etc. for the outward journey especially if travelling a considerable distance to the channel port. Regular stops will be made en route, but service areas can be expensive. Taking a picnic enables party members to save their money for the return journey. Foreign currency (Euros) or Swiss Francs will be required for stops abroad. N.B. Meals en route to and from the resort are not included in the course cost. There will be space for one piece of luggage (soft holdall type bag, not a suitcase) per person plus a small piece of hand luggage. It is also a good idea to take a pillow onto the coach for the overnight journey. Please ensure that pupils plan their packing so that everything they need on the journey is taken on board at the outset. We strongly recommend that passengers remain in their seats with their seatbelts on, whilst the coach is in motion. We also recommend seating a member of staff at the rear of the coach to enable you to enforce this. Recent surveys show that the greatest risk of injury during coach travel is from passengers not being in their seats. This, not surprisingly, is highlighted in student travel. Injuries are caused by falls, slips and trips whilst the coach is under sharp braking or acceleration. All our UK coaches are equipped with lap belts. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LAW IN FRANCE NOW STATES THAT AN ADULT MUST BE SEATED AT EACH EXIT DURING TRAVEL THROUGH FRANCE.
