STAR test will determine student’s reading level.
Each student is assigned a quarterly goal based on
STAR test results
Students will receive two grades per quarter
for AR.

Text: Top Score Writing
Students will focus on informative and
argumentative writing skills to prepare for the FSA.
Grammar skills will be reinforced in class and
at home as needed.

Vocabulary development- through text and additional resources
Spelling- frequently misspelled words will be considered in lessons and major assignments

7. Study Skills and Grading
Monday-Thursday, sometimes longer projects on weekends to gather resources.

8. Technology Cell phones and IPads are not allowed in the classroom.
At times, during L&L designated Silent Reading periods Nooks, Kindles or other electronic readers will be allowed in the classroom.
