10 Steps to learn a language
Chose a language you want to learn Find a mobile app for language learning that suits you (Duolingo, Babbel, LingQ).(tv and music) Dedicate a few days to concentrate on the language. Learn the 100 most used words and the phrase “How do you say…?” (cognates!) Study every day, even if it is only 5 minutes. Try to think in the language. Learn how to read. Reading will give you vocabulary and the right spelling. Re-listen to old songs that you forgot about. Find a language partner. Chris Lonsdale’s “5 Principles and 7 Actions”

5 Principles Chris Lonsdale is a linguist that studies the fastest ways to learn languages. Relevance-Attention-Meaning-Memory. Communicate right from day one. “If your face is hurting you're doing it right.” Comprehension is more important that accumulating a lot of knowledge. Learn while you are happy and relaxed. If you are stressed out, you won’t learn anything.

7 Actions Listen a lot. Try to get the meaning first. Start mixing. (Michel Thomas) Focus on the most frequently used words. Find a language parent (different from the language partner). Copy the face of native speakers. Connect the words to concepts and images, not to words in your native language.
