This map summarizes the annual number of patients with isolation of E. coli or Klebsiella spp. with resistance to any carbapenem identified by Swiss clinical microbiology laboratories. The geographic distribution indicates the location of the microbiological laboratory and, for reasons of data protection, not the patient’s residence. The first number represents data collected in the ANRESIS database. The second number indicates cases reported actively to ANRESIS by clinical microbiology with reference activity for carbapenem resistance (last data query 03/2012).
