1. Readers, today I want to talk to you about my trip to Boston this summer.

2. Boston is full of history and has many interesting places to see!

3. One fun thing I did while I was there was to take a Duck Tour!

4. While on the tour, the guide talked all about the history of Boston.
Where battles were fought…
How the landscape was different…

5. While he was talking, I was picturing in my mind what it might have looked like.
I pictured the American and British soldiers fighting near Bunker Hill.

6. I also pictured Paul Revere’s home and the historic North End.

7. And, this made me think of reading!

8. So I thought we’d take a look back at “Amigo Brothers”.

9. As I’m reading this passage, I’m going to sketch what I’m envisioning in my mind.

10. I’m noticing how the characters are acting in addition to what I picture.

11. I want you to take a look at your independent reading.
Pick a scene that really sticks out in your mind. It might be action packed or just a particularly vivid scene. Sketch it and explain the importance of the scene.

12. Readers, as you read independently, remember to visualize the setting, plot events, and character.
