The Definition of Authentic Assessment
A form of assessment in which students are asked to perform real-world tasks that demonstrate meaningful application of essential knowledge and skills. (Jon Mueller). "Performance assessments call upon the examinee to demonstrate specific skills and competencies, that is, to apply the skills and knowledge they have mastered." (Stiggins,1987). "...Engaging and worthy problems or questions of importance, in which students must use knowledge to fashion performances effectively and creatively…” (Wiggins, 1993).

Implementation of authentic assessment
Stages Planning implementation Follow-up The survey results Haryono (2008): In general, follow-up results according to assessment of students in Haryono survey are good. Moon (2005) : research has shown that the development of authentic assessment in schools has received a positive response by both teachers and students. Focus on material that is important, big ideas or specific skills; An in-depth assessment; Easy to do in the classroom or school environment; Emphasis on product quality or performance of the single answer; Scoring assessment is based on the essence of the task.
