Rediscovering ancient Greece and Rome
Renaissance --> re-birth Refers to the interest in classical learning. During the Middle Ages many people forgot Greek language and used a different type of Latin. Few people knew how to read, and the ones who knew, were in charged of reading texts that promoted the church.

They made a renewal of their spirits because they became more curious and creative.
