2. The Commission for LGBT People is a body appointed by the Chancellor to advise on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of university programs, policies, and services designed to improve the status of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people on the Knoxville campus.

3. 2017-2018 Priorities Assess needs of LGBTQ+ faculty and staff
Advocate for training in LGBTQ+ issues across campus
Support and advocate for the needs of transgender and non-binary people on campus
Enhance LGBT Mentorship Program by increasing visibility of program and recruiting new mentors and mentees
Support of the Pride Center
Collaboration with leadership and Pride Center for hiring Pride Center coordinator

4. Annual Activities
Recognition of accomplished UTK LGBTQ+ advocates (students, faculty, staff) with two Chancellor’s awards
Annual support to Lavender Graduation
Support to the Pride Center

5. Points of Pride
Pride Ambassadors Reception, May 2017
Contributed to the inclusion of gender identity and sexual orientation in the EEO/AA anti-discrimination statement
Provided a letter the Chancellor urging action to be taken in response to the multiple Pride Center vandalism acts
Special recognition of the Pride Center Ambassadors and Student Assistants at the May 2017 CFLGBTP meeting
