The FM_PI Multi-Period Expenditure Comparison report was created in conjunction with a usability group as part of a joint OSP and ISDS effort to provide streamlined and meaningful financial reports for the PI community.

2. Purpose of Report
To allow multiple period expenditures to be listed side by side for comparison purposes.
Standard PI (Header) Format
This report is an analytical report that allows you to make a side-by-side comparison of expenditures for multiple periods.
The report displays the standard PI header format to provide the PI with pertinent sponsor reference information.

3. Two Format/tabs Project Multi-Period Expenditures
Award Multi-Period Expenditures
There are 2 tabs to the report..
The first tab shows a summary of monthly expenditures by budget category associated with selected projects and periods.
The second tab shows a summary of monthly expenses at the project level associated with selected awards and periods.

4. Useful to view the rate of expenditures over a period of months.

The first tab, the Project Multi-Period Expenditures report, shows expenditures summarized by budget category for selected projects and periods.

5. Award Multi-Period Expenditures

Useful for program projects or for an award with one or more sub-awards.

The second tab, Award Multi-period Expenditures report, shows a monthly expenditures summarized by Project for selected awards and periods.
This is particularly helpful to PIs with program projects, or who have sub-recipients working on a part of their research and thus have multiple projects associated with an award.
