What is it? Why does campus do it?

2 What is Stormwater Management?
Stormwater management means managing surface runoff from rain or snow and is used primarily to minimize flooding, erosion, and other problems caused by runoff

3 Why is it important? Managing stormwater is important because without it, areas with a lot of concrete, asphalt or buildings could easily flood and cause a lot of problems

4 How does the University manage stormwater?
The University manages stormwater by the installation and maintenance of storm drains, retention ponds, greenroofs and much more!

5 Fun facts Did you know that there are 9 ponds on campus? There are 8 wet ponds and 1 dry pond on campus that were installed to allow rainwater to accumulate there and eventually infiltrate into the soil instead of going into the Rountree branch Did you know that there is a greenroof on Glenview commons? There is! The plants help maintain the building’s temperature and collect storm water
