Student Bus Regulations
Permanent bus stops are established. Students must use the bus stop assigned to them. Students and parents are to ensure the safety at the bus stops. Bus drivers are not authorized to change, edit, or add bus stops to their route. If a parent has a concern about their bus stop, please contact transportation at Students should be at their bus stops 5-10 minutes prior to the time scheduled. If your student is having issues with other students on the bus, please contact transportation. Parents/guardians are prohibited by law to board the bus. We are happy to talk to you, but please not during routes. We are trying to stay on schedule.

Changes Parents should contact CTEC to report a student’s change of address or telephone number. The transportation office cannot make this change. Alternate pick-up/drop off addresses – You may change your student pick-up or drop-off address for long term situations only. For example if you want your children to be dropped off at a babysitter or grandparent’s house instead of your address. A child may have one consistent morning pick up and one consistent drop off address. We will notify parents of school closings, delays, or early dismissals through our Blackboard Connect automated calling system. Here Comes the Bus app – Zonar – Life360 - cameras

Safety We conduct mandatory evacuation drills twice a year. Starting this year, the fall drill will be announced to students beforehand with the situation. Spring drills will be a surprise to students. We ask students to remain seated, facing front and out of the aisles while riding the bus. We also ask they not eat or drink on the bus. If your child rides on a bus with seatbelts, we ask that they use these. This is not a law at this time, but it really is safer than just sitting in their seats. Students should NEVER run to their bus or their bus stop. This is how most bus related student injures and deaths occur.
