UNECE Regional TIR Seminar, Tunis, 3-4 June 2009 31 DOORS, OTHER CLOSING SYSTEMS AND CUSTOMS SEALING DEVICES Doors and all other closing systems shall be fitted with a device on which Customs seals can be fixed This device cannot be removed and replaced from the outside without leaving obvious traces, or the door or fastening be opened without breaking the Customs seals The sealing device must be secured by welding, or by not less than two special joining devices The sealing device must incorporate holes of not less than 11 mm in diameter or slots of at least 11 mm in length by 3 mm in width, and afford equal security whatever type of seal is used

If the TIR wire does not pass through the pivoting device/ manoeuvre handle, extra seals are required Due to wear and tear of sealing device details, the security of Customs sealing can go down
