Engaged students in answering two questions: What makes my school special? / What does it look like when I’m learning at my best? Their responses are on placemat plans at each table and are designed to ensure student needs are at the centre of our discussions. Public Awareness Campaign – Via CA’s website, parent Facebook page, twitter and the e-newsletter “Empower” we hope to engage the entire school community in this plan, by building awareness of the plan’s development and offering opportunities for input. Those participants on twitter will want to include #CAnext35 to all tweets Community Engagement Meetings – Review meeting dates and topics Internal Review – As part of the process, two internal review meetings also have been set early in the process to speak directly with groups of staff on operational and organization efficiencies.

5 Planning Principles Partner with the entire school community – both internal & external stakeholders Ensure all stakeholders understand the purpose, “to create a shared vision of success” Provide & honour the voice of all participants Pledge to seek stakeholder’s advice & innovation in formulating solutions & to incorporate their feedback into the plan to the maximum extent possible Review planning principles – our commitment across the process

6 Rules of Engagement Together, we will be inclusive of all voices.
Together, we will have mutual respect for all participants. Together, we are committed to hearing & understanding the views of all participants. Review rules of engagement – model the school’s REACH philosophy

7 A Proud History Your observations of what has made the school what it is today

8 Our Source of Inspiration
Based on the illustration depicting the voice of our students: Poll 1 – What did students say “Makes their school special?” Poll 2 – What did our students say to “What does it look like when I am learning at my best?” As stated earlier, the voice of our students in the process was critical. Student responses to our two questions were put to illustration by The23rdStory and are before you. We’d ask that you spend two minutes at your tables reflecting on the illustration, then providing ONE observation to Poll One: Why students think CA is special…. Poll Two: What kind of learning environment do CA students need to flourish….
