The course grade received for the high school math courses in middle school does show on the student’s transcript, but does not reflect in your GPA The EOC grade will appear as well, and is also included in the class grade.

The things to think about…..
PROPOSAL FOR NEXT YEAR – Block for MS (GSE Algebra 1 (Fall) and GSE Geometry (Spring): The things to think about….. Pros CONS Ability to earn 2 HS math credits in ms Could possibly have 6 math credits on transcript Ability to “slow-down” the Algebra/Geom A course Will not have to wait to take EOC in high school due to block scheduling in HS Ability to use problem based learning frequently without having to worry about “getting” through the curriculum Students would go directly to Honors Algebra II – again slowing this course down Early arrival to LMS – 8:00 am or 7:30am Transportation – if one part of block is before school MS school student “sitting” in a class for 90 minutes – though it would not be 90 minutes at one time.
6
Advantages & Disadvantages
Can easily progress to higher level of math (i.e Multi Variable Calculus – DL with Tech) – however this is doable even without being in these courses Speed of courses – block scheduling, - Lack of extra quality points – honors - .5 and AP 1.0 – this affects valedictorian, HOPE and college admittance

PROPOSAL FOR NEXT YEAR – Block for MS (GSE Algebra 1 (Fall) and GSE Geometry (Spring):
The big take away is: Your child can be afforded the opportunity to earn 2 HS Math credits IF you are willing to commit to the zero period (Student arriving at 8:00am or 7:30) all year What are your thoughts???
