The present perfect refers to actions that have happened some unknown
time before now.
The present perfect is formed by have/had + past participle.
Some Examples
I have walked to school a few times.
She has skated on Lake Washington.
He’s discovered how to study effectively.

8. Three Main Uses of Present Perfect
1.) Something that started in the past and is still happening now.
2.) Something that happened in the past and is repeated several times.
3.) Something that happened at some unknown time in the past.

9. Uses of Present Perfect
The present perfect expresses an action or state which began in the past and is still happening in the present. The time expressions for and since are common with this use.
I have known Robert since I was a child.
I have worked as a tour guide for twelve years.
He has had a beard since he left college.

10. Uses of Present Perfect
The present perfect expresses a past action with happened in the past and is repeated several times. The adverbs just, already, and yet are common with this use.
The students have just arrived.
The bus has already arrived.
Has the mail been delivered, yet?

11. Uses of Present Perfect
The present perfect expresses an activity that happened at some unknown time in the past. The adverbs already and before are commonly used.
She has already finished her homework.
They have already been here.
He has seen that movie before.

12. The present perfect can be used to expresses an experience as part of someone’s life.
I’ve travelled a lot in South America. (I’ve = I have)
She has enjoyed many types of food.
He’s lived in many different places. (He’s = He has)
We have taken long boat rides down the Amazon.

13. When using the present perfect to express an experience as part of someone’s life, it is common to use ever and never. Ever is only used in questions
