Circulatory System By: Mena Tadesse, Skylar Eanes, Stavros Boardman, and Jonathan Sarno

2 Questions What is the main purpose (function) for the circulatory system? The main purpose of the circulatory system is to transport materials throughout the entire body. It transports nutrients, water, and oxygen to your billions of body cells and carries away wastes such as carbon dioxide that the body cells produce What is blood pressure? The pressure of the blood in the circulatory system, often measured for diagnosis since it is closely related to the force and rate of the heartbeat and the diameter and elasticity of the arterial walls. Trace how blood flows through the circulatory system The circulatory system carries nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body. It consists of the heart and the blood vessels going through the entire body. The arteries carry blood away from the heart; the veins carry it back to the heart.

3 Questions Why is it bad if blood pressure is too high? Why is it bad if blood pressure is Too low? When you have high blood pressure, blood flows through your arteries with too much force, even though you can’t feel it. Over time, this pressure damages the walls of your arteries. It can damage your heart and coronary arteries including heart attack, heart disease, congestive heart failure, aortic dissection, and atherosclerosis. The side effects can be stroke, kidney damage, vision loss, memory loss, fluid in the lungs, angina, and peripheral artery disease. If the blood pressure is to low it can cause dizziness and fainting. It can also cause shock which can cause a person have to go to the bathroom and cause confusion for the person. Side effects are dizziness or lightheadedness, fainting, dehydration and unusual thirst, lack of concentration, blurred vision, nausea, cold clammy pale skin, rapid shallow breathing, fatigue, and depression.

4 questions 4. Definition and show veins, capillaries, and arteries.
Veins- Tubes that carry blood to the rest of your body Capillaries- They are the smallest of the blood vessels, their walls are so thin that oxygen and glucose can pass through them and goes into the cells Arteries- Any of the muscular walled to any of the muscular-walled tubes forming part of the circulation system by which blood (mainly that which has been oxygenated) is conveyed from the heart to all best forming part of the circulation system by ( mainly that which has been oxygenated) is conveyed from the heart to all parts of the body.

5 What does the Circulatory System do?
It is a system that permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients( such as amino acids and electrolytes), oxygen, carbon dioxide, hormones, and blood cells to and from the cells in the body.

6 Research It's known as the cardiovascular system
It moves blood and nutrients to the body It fights diseases because oxygen, carbon dioxide, hormones, and nutrients the heart blood and blood vessels are the components of the circulatory system There is a loop of the lungs which allows the oxygenated blood to go through the body The digestive system works with the cardiovascular system to keep the heart pumping Oxygenated blood enters the systemic circulation when leaving the left ventricle

7 Research Aorta- Atora is a massive thick walled artery
The artora branches into major arteries before going inside the diaphragm, then it reaches out to the lower part of the body Then the arteries turn into arteries and then capillaries, the capillaries bring blood to the venous system a
