Circulatory System Organs
Heart = major organ Heart is made up of THREE muscle layers: myocardium – makes up the thickness of the heart, main heart muscle endocardium- thin layer inside myocardium Epicardium – thin cover over the myocardium Other parts to CS: Arteries Capillaries Vein Blood CS Roles: Move nutrient, metabolic waste, and oxygen around protection against microbes and injury.

Excretory System Organs
Kidneys & Bladder rids the body of waste. maintain chemical composition, volume of blood, and tissue fluid

Digestive System Organs
Stomach & Intestines breaks the food down into smaller pieces to be used by the body Nutrients are absorbed from these food materials

Respiratory System Organs
Lungs oxygen is taken in by the nose, passed on to the lungs and then goes into the blood

Nervous System Organs Brain, Spinal Cord, & Nerves
The coordinator of all body activities Regulates other systems Controls memory and learning

Reproductive System Organs
Ovaries (female) & Testes (male) produce new individuals of the same species Ovaries produce eggs Testes produce sperm

Muscular System Muscles Give the body its movement, posture, & support
Produce heat
