Skip breakfast and you will struggle to control your appetite. A low blood sugar will drive you to eat in between meals. You will keep snacking. Sort out the blood sugar and you will no longer have to use will power to try and stop eating in between meals. You won’t be tempted to buy the sweeties and chips that are found at the check-out counter at the supermarket.

For convenience lets make breakfast the meal that contains fruit. One should have at least 2 fresh fruits a day. Make sure that the fruits that you eat are ripe. Green fruit can give you indigestion. Try and have different fruits over a period of a week. You want those healing colours, tastes and smells (remember phytochemicals? phyto is pronounced “fighto”)

The best porridge has 2 or 3 well cooked whole grains in it. Spending time making porridge in a hot box in 10 – 15 minutes the night before is the easiest and quickest way of having a hot cooked porridge ready in the morning. It is very important that any grain is well cooked before you eat it.
