Partner up! 12:34- 12:36 Discuss: Suppose you were Xerxes(the Persian King) what would you do if you were defeated by the Athenians at the battle of Marathon?

Retaliation 12:36- 12:47 After loosing to the Athenians at the battle of Marathon, Xerxes I (the great), head of the Persian Empire decided to attack Greece again. Xerxes I led his infamous elite soldiers known as the 10,000 Immortals in the invasion at the narrow coastal pass of Thermopylae.

Greece pulls together! Greek city-states pull together to fight against the Persians. Greeks were once again vastly outnumbered but still managed to fight with such pride for 7 days! King Leonidas I- leading the awesome Spartans (around 300) managed to hold off the Persian advance for almost 3 days!
