Survey was conducted mid-April – June 2012 Sample size = 50,322 (Age 18+) Of the visitors arriving in our region from Ontario: 34% Age 55+ 38% Age 35-54 Average Household Income = $88,000

The statistics show we have the visitors coming, but can we accommodate them in West Elgin? - Existing parks are near (or beyond) site capacity - Previously priority has been given to full- season campers - There is now a shortage of overnight sites for the traveling public - Traveling campers spend more in the community then seasonal campers do

Rigs are getting bigger Pull-through sites are in high demand 50amp and 60 amp services are becoming the norm Cycling + Motorcycling only require partial services (hydro, water) Increase demand for transient (overnight) sites

Development on the 9.69 acres will be connected to Lakewood Trailer Estates by paths, ownership and facilities Transportation paths connecting the property to the public picnic area in Memorial Park and the Port Glasgow marina, harbor and beach are essential

The Low Speed Vehicle pilot project under way in Ontario does not allow for golf carts to be used on roadways,

There is a high demand for this mode of transportation in Port Glasgow, so we need to look at the available alternatives like Cycle/Cart pathways to allow access to public lands and facilities within the community without using the roadways

Road allowance pathways are becoming common place in many communities around Ontario. These pathways allow for slower moving traffic to have a safe, dedicated and environmentally friendly route to community facilities and activities.

Build to enhance the existing community Tourism based Activities and Events Tourism based Accommodation Beach, Fishing and Boating access Natural, Peaceful, Rural Share in providing safe community access
