Bellringer Task 9/25/14 -Define the following words as they appear in the sentences below: gluff, monectly, swud, and glisped -Next, try defining the words using context clues. Determine which type of context clue it is. Types of Context Clues - Use these definitions as an aid Definition- the word is defined directly and clearly in the sentence. Antonym (or contrast) - the word is contrasted by another word or phrase, often separated with but, whereas, or unlike. Synonym (or restatement)-other words are used in the sentence with similar meanings. Inference-word meanings are not directly described, but need to be inferred from the context. It was very gluff; I had to wear two hoodies and a hat! My sister was convinced she had a beautiful singing voice, but in reality she sang monectly. The swud, a category five hurricane, slammed into Haiti last night. The baby glisped at the toy elephant and the happy noise made her mom smile
