Motivation In the current SDD, one A-MAP (N-USCI + USCI) region is defined within a subframe. Regarding relay system, there are 3 categories of A-MAP recipients. AMSs communicating with ABS/nTrARS directly ARSs, which are TrARSs (Transparent ARS) or nTrARSs (Non-transparent ARS) AMSs communicating with ABS/nTrARS via TrARS indirectly If all A-MAP IEs are transmitted through one A-MAP region, the overhead of blind decoding of A-MAP IEs by A-MAP recipients would be huge.

R_N-USCI (Relay Non-User Specific Control Information) + R_USCI (Relay User Specific Control Information) Two A-MAP regions within a subframe A-MAP region containing A-MAP IEs For AMSs communicating with ABS/nTrARS directly Relay A-MAP region containing A-MAP IEs For ARSs which are TrARSs (Transparent ARS) or nTrARSs (Non-transparent ARS) For AMSs communicating with ABS/nTrARS via TrARS indirectly

Advantages of proposed Relay A-MAP Reduce blind decoding overhead for 3 types of A-MAP recipients. Since AMSs belonging to TrARSs are scheduled together within limited subframes (1 or 2) along with AMSs communicating with ABS directly, the number of blind decoding can be reduced. In case of retransmission cases, TrARSs may need to overhear retransmission A-MAP of which CRC is masked by AMS STID. The overhead of TrARS’s blind decoding can be mitigated. No explicit signaling needed for indicating Relay A-MAP. No impact on normal AMS’s A-MAP decoding How to decode Relay A-MAP without explicit information 1. Decoding N-USCI of A-MAP 2. Extract USCI end position from N-USCI Implicitly acquire the starting position of R_N-USCI 3. Decoding R_N-USCI of Relay A-MAP 4. Decoding R_USCI After decoding N_USCI, Relay A-MAP can be decoded without explicit signaling

Support for multi-hop relay 15.4 Data and Control Functions 15.4.x Downlink Control Structure 15.4.x.y Advanced MAPs (A-MAP) 15.4.x.y.z Relay Advanced MAPs (R_A-MAP) When ABS or non-transparent ARS has subordinate transparent ARSs within its coverage, two A-MAP regions can be defined, i.e., A-MAP and Relay A-MAP regions. Relay A-MAP consists of Relay N-USCI and Relay USCI. Relay A-MAP region is FDMed with A-MAP region and is located after A-MAP region. Through Relay A-MAP region in superordinate stations (ABSs or non-transparent ARSs), A-MAP IEs can be transmitted for subordinated transparent ARSs or AMSs belonging to the transparent ARSs.
