Blether and Friendship Club North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre High Road, Motherwell ML1 3HU The Blether and Friendship Club aims to provide a relaxed and friendly environment where people can meet to chat about old Motherwell, school-days, work, social life or any other topic of interest. Come along for a good old fashioned blether every Wednesday afternoon. (1-3.30pm) There is a small charge of £2.50 which includes refreshments & cake! Autism Take 5 is run by parents and carers who support an individual or individuals with autism, with or without a diagnosis, in the Lanarkshire area. We are a friendly bunch who support each other in a safe environment, share ideas with one another and promote good practice. We always welcome new members and hope that those who would welcome support will come along to our group and enjoy a cuppa and a chat Take 5 Autism Support children and adults with autism Contact: Carol Loch We support older people across the UK living with dementia, depression and loneliness by engaging them in social activities and helping them to recall memories of watching or playing sport. By sharing memories of sporting moments and tapping into a passion for sport we help people to connect with others and with their past, reawakening positive thoughts and feelings that otherwise remain hidden away. Sporting memories Contact: Norrie Gallacher Mobile Friends 4 U is a group for adults who have a learning disability. The group meets 3 times per week in both the Andrew Hamilton Centre twice and the John McCormick Centre. They offer many activities especially relaxation using sensory equipment. The Woolpack Knitting Club is an informal knitting club which meets every Tuesday afternoon in the North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre in Motherwell. It’s as much about the conversation and cake as it is about the knitting and you don’t need to know how to knit, as volunteers are on hand to help beginners and pass on their skills. There is a small charge of £2.50 for each club which includes refreshments & cake! Both clubs will be open to anyone who wants to come along, please contact the centre for more information. Befriending in Motherwell
ELIM Befriending Service is a volunteer led befriending service. Part of the Befriending network they offer befriending services to the people of Motherwell experiencing isolation & loneliness. They encourage local people to join them for oasis Wednesday – an activity group/café that meets from 11 – 2 in Elim Church, Motherwell.
