Reggae - Anguilla,Bahamas,Barbados,Belize,Bermuda,Bonaire,Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Guadeloupe,Guyana, Haiti, Louisiana,Martinique,Panama, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands. Junkanoo - Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados Bermuda, British Caribbean, Caymans, Grenada, UK Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands.

Calypso Music (Goombay music)
Can be compared to the blues of the South. Mostly heard during slavery. Was used to ease their problems and communicate among other slaves.Calypso songs are in the 2/4 and 4/4 song pattern. Instruments: Drums,flute,guitar,saxophones, and rattles for accompaniment.

Ska It's basically dance music.It was Jamaican dance music that swept out of Jamaica in the early 1960’s and became Blue beat music. Instruments: guitar,bass guitar,trumpet,trombone, piano,saxophone,drums and organs. Must Be Love- Madness

Junkanoo A mix of Afro-Bahamian music and dance which began with slaves who were given 3 days off at Christmas . They'd perform Junkanoo at that time. Mostly heard in the Bahamas today. Instruments: Drums, and brass instruments but other instruments are often homemade.

Reggae An offspring of ska that developed in late 1600’s. Reggae has spawned more than 15 different musical forms in total. In the Caribbean, February is Reggae month.
