Learning Target Let’s collaborate and work as a team to develop positive relationships Let’s identify our own leadership style and the styles of my colleagues to promote professional learning through communication and collaboration. Snell

LEARNING COMMUNITIES Professional learning that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students and where everyone is committed to continuous improvement, collective responsibility, and goal alignment. Snell Dr. Wright discussed on Jan 2nd the shift from teachers working exclusively with students to now forming professional learning communities made up of teachers, students, parents, and administrators. We have developed professional learning communities and we have involved students and parents in some of those committees. We want to continue to develop and grow PLC’s that meet our needs and get better at working together on a daily basis.

“We have to be going in the same direction if we’re going to reach a common result. The entire time I’m in the district, we’ll be talking about getting on the same page about what good instruction looks like. I think that’s hugely important.” Dr. Camille Wright We want to come to the place where everyone has a shared understanding of and commitment to what we are trying to create for students and adults in our school. And continue to improve on that vision each and every day. Take 2 sticky note Pick one in red. Write a question that you have about it. Write a statement you would like to make about it. Dr. Wright also stated that, “we can only give the support if you reflect on your needs openly and honestly”.

Partnership Principles
Equality Choice Voice Reflection Dialogue Praxis Reciprocity These are the 7 partnership principles that are the basis for successful team interactions according to Jim Knight As we continue our professional development this semester, we are going to continue to discuss and practice these partnership principles. The better we get at these core beliefs, the more we can excel in classroom management, content planning, instruction, and assessment. (What Mr. Knight calls “The Big 4”) VIDEO In today’s activity, we are going to practice voice, reflection, and dialogue.
