4 Medieval Times and Crusades
The Crusades were an effort by European Christians to reclaim the “holy land” Around 1096 the holy journeys began 4 Separate and major Crusades

5 Renaissance Rebirth or renewal of two ancient civilizations: Greeks and Romans Revived the arts and education, came out of the Dark Ages Time of wealth, trade, arts, and learning

7 Holocaust During 1939-1945 Nazi government rounded up millions of Jews
Put into concentration camps and later death camps Over 6 millions Jews plus millions more died at the hands of Hitler and Nazis

8 Berlin Wall and Cold War
After WWII, East Germany and West Germany divided into 2 countries East Germany controlled by communists built a 600 miles wall between the two nations No access between the two countries until 1989 when the wall came down
