PreAP Frequently Asked Questions
Who can take PreAP classes? They are open enrollment, but student, parent, teacher & counselor input is imperative. Can be a very difficult decision. What if a student is struggling in a PreAP class? A student may exit Pre-AP courses at the end of the first semester (regardless of student performance) with teacher and parent approval unless administration approves an earlier exit due to extenuating circumstances. Students and parents should have the benefit of knowing the grading period or semester grade before making an exit decision. At the end of the semester or Appeal committee decision at the end of the 1st nine-week grading period Is there any limit to the number of PreAP courses one can take? No, but should consider the student’s needs & overall course load.
