4 Meet Ms. Nephew Born and raised in Maine but have lived in the South most of my life--first Tennessee, then Georgia. B.S. in Early Childhood Education (Georgia State University) M.Ed. in Reading, Language, and Literacy Education (Georgia State University) Earned Fulton County ESOL endorsement last year. Taught Pre-K for three years This is my second year teaching 3rd grade here at Shakerag! Have three daughters: Kris, Holly, and Ashley. Kris is married with two children—my grandchildren, Aiden & Phoebe. Holly & Ashley are identical twins and are sophomores at Northview.

Extras at lunch: cash or written note by parent for child to use lunch card to purchase “extras”. Birthdays are to be celebrated in accordance with the handout you received at Sneak Peek. Please do not pass out birthday invitations at school. Teachers can not give out contact information for students, but we encourage you to join the PTA so you have access to the online directory.

13 Homework Homework Policy: Up to thirty minutes a night
3-4 nights a week 20 minutes of reading written on electronic reading log. GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Media Center and Advanced Strategies Lab: Monthly media center lesson Supplements classroom instruction through research, presentation, and technology Resources on Media Center Website ASL (Advanced Strategies Lab): Once a week lesson that encourages students to problem solve as a group through creative hands-on activities.

Grades are based on a variety of information Teacher Observation Class Participation Written Assessment Projects/Tests Grade Components: Summative 35% (Tests, performance assessments, projects) Quizzes: 30% (quizzes, home projects, oral presentations) Classwork: 25% Homework: 10% (Graded for completion, not accuracy) You will see your child’s performance through graded papers, nine week report cards, Fall and Spring progress checklists, and Home Access Center Grade Scale A = B = C = F = 69 or below

24 Agendas Agendas are brought home each day
Homework will be written in each day Please review this with your child Sign and return the agenda daily You may also use the agenda as a communication tool between home and school

25 Policies Transportation Policy: Must have ALL changes in writing (no s or agenda notes accepted). Attendance: It is helpful when you me that your child will be absent or will be early/late due to an appointment. You also need to or send me a note when your child has been out sick.

26 -Conferences- Sign up genius if you would like to request a conference with a specific teacher.
