SENIOR PROJECT PRESENTATIONS 2013
What is required? How will I be graded? How does it connect to my paper? How do I include the outside hours? Who will be in the room? When do I present? Can I use a power point? Can I use my notes? How long do I have to talk? what is a portfolio? If I made a b on my paper, will I make the same grade on the presentation? How do I make a good grade?

REQUIREMENTS The presentation should be 5-8 minutes long.
(CERTIFICATE OF MASTERY: MINUTES LONG. ) The presenter should be prepared to answer impromptu questions related to the topic. (COM: Expert; more questions; more in depth answers for impromptu questions) The presenter should provide the panel of judges with a portfolio. *See the Portfolio Requirement Sheet for details. In addition to the actual product, a visual aid should be a part of the presentation. (i.e. Power Point, “science board” display, video clips, etc.) All electronic files must be saved to the *teacher’s Senior Project flash drive in advance.

PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION
Introduce the topic Identify the thesis statement Summarize research findings Research Paper Mentor Product Connect research to product Explain what you have learned to a panel of judges Present a quality product that was created based on research and experience

Portfolio The portfolio is an important component of the presentation.
It should contain all documents as assigned by the teacher. A table of contents should be in the front of the portfolio. All documents should follow the order of the table of contents. The portfolio should be in a three-ring binder with other assigned components as assigned by the teacher. The judges will see it. Make a good impression! (complete, neat, organized, error free) The portfolio will be returned to the student after the presentation has been graded.

Students should review the GRADING RUBRIC
carefully to ensure that all areas are understood and addressed during the presentation. ********************************** Review each section carefully. Each section is worth 20 points. The highest overall score is 100. Each section will be scored as EXCEPTIONAL, ABOVE AVERAGE, AVERAGE, BELOWAVERAGE, OR POOR.

Did you know that there are over 4 million homeless people in America?
I chose this topic because I feel that as the economy continues to worsen, homelessness is more relevant than ever. This number is going to continue to increase. My youth group visited a homeless shelter last year, and I found myself wondering what could be done to help the poor. CONCLUSION In conclusion, (summarize what you have said in the paper.) I learned that every bit helps and that although I am just one person, I can make a difference.
