TEXTBOOK ADOPTIONS Mastering the New Online Adoption Process

Getting Started You must complete a one-time registration to access the textbook adoptions page through the new website. Faculty members who completed online adoptions for the Fall semester should already have a login and password.

Registering Access “The Store” website by going to “Spider”.
Select “Faculty Adoptions” on the left side of page.

First time users will select “Register Here” at the bottom of the page.
If you have already registered, you can ignore the next few steps.

On the “Select Registration Option” screen, select “Create profile for Adopting Course Materials”.
On the next screen you will need to fill in all boxes marked with an asterisk.

Under “Faculty Registration” enter your email address & select your own password.
Example: Address: Password: adoptions

Where it says “Department Username” and “Department Password” you will have to enter a department username that is standard for your department. The password for EVERYONE is “faculty”

Example: Undergraduate History
Department Username: unghis Department Password: faculty

Example: Graduate Education
Department Username: grdedu Department Password: faculty

Return to the “Faculty Adoptions” page.
It is now time to begin the adoptions process.

Build Your Course List Select “Enter Course Information”.
In the “Select a Department” drop down box, select the correct department.

Under “Course Information” select “Add Course”
Enter your course number. Enter the correct section & instructors name.

If your course does not require text, please select the box labeled “Course does not require materials”.

If you know the estimated course enrollment & pre enrollment, you may enter those numbers at this time. After you have entered the basic information, you will then select “Add to Course List”.

Find Course Materials Select “Adoption Textbooks Search” at the top of the page. You may search by author, title, or ISBN.

Matching Courses & Materials
Once you have selected your books, you will go back to the main page by clicking on “Faculty Adoptions” on the left side of the screen. You will now select “Add/Edit Course Materials”.

You will see a check box next to your courses and next to each book.
You will now match the titles with the course by selecting the check box.

Be sure to select the “usage” in the drop down box at the right of each book title.

Now select the button at the bottom of the page that says “Add to Selected Course”.
You will now see a page that looks very similar.

Select the button in the top right corner that says “Review Selected Adoption”.

Verify the information you have entered is correct and now select “Submit Adoption”.

You will now see a confirmation page that you can print for your own record.

Quick Adoption If you know the ISBN for the book you wish to adopt you may enter this through the “Quick Adoption” link on the main page.

You will now enter the course information as before.
Toward the bottom of the screen, you will enter the ISBN and usage for your course. Select “Add ISBN”

Now select “Submit” at the bottom of the page.
You will now see the confirmation page for your own record.

My Submitted Adoptions
You can review the adoptions you have submitted by selecting “My Submitted Adoptions” on the main page.

Submitted – You have submitted your adoption.
Received – The Store has received your adoption. Posted By The Store – The Store has posted your adoption.

Congratulations!! You have now successfully completed your textbook adoptions through our new online process. Questions or concerns can be directed to Holly The Bookstore. or
