4 Activity Choose an item out of the box Your item represents something
Explain to students that the item they chose is a mystery topic. That item represents a scheme of things that came into the United States from another country. Their job is the following: Find out what the item represents. Present guess to teacher If yes, move to step 2. If no, think harder and try again!! Questions you need to answer through exploration What does your item represent? What country(s) did the United States get this idea from? When did this come into place? Multiple answers for some

5 Impact Extension Map Draw a dot in your country(s) of origin
Describe the impact your topic has had on the United States. Do you think the addition of your item was a good or bad thing? Why? Map Draw a dot in your country(s) of origin Draw an arrow from that country to the US On top of your arrow, write your topic and the year

6 Sample Government Came from Greece and England
1776 (Officially Developed) Impact Government keeps us safe, and tries to do what is best for the United States. I would say that as a whole, government coming into the United States was a good thing. Without government, life would be chaotic!
