7 Middle school behavior
Primary school behavior is looked at the same as it is in middle school, following the same Code of Conduct You are expected to be on your best behavior at all times You are expected to be respectful to everyone around you Your behavior determines your reputation in middle school

8 Strike system Unlike primary school, middle school has a strike system. When you get in trouble during class or in the hallways you get a strike. Strikes are like warnings Strike 1 is warning Strike 2 is warning Strike 3 call parent Strike 4 is after school and contact parents/ guardian Strike 5 Referral Then After The 5th Strike you Keep Getting Referrals and placed in ISS (in-school suspension) You get too many referrals, you are sent to an alternative school - Renaissance

11 Remedial If you receive a 1 or a 2 on FCAT you will be placed in remedial classes Therefore, you will have double reading or math Double reading= 1 elective Double math= 1 elective Double reading & math= NO electives

13 Advanced Get more class selection ( Band, Chorus, Gym, etc.)
To be in Advanced classes you need to score a 4 or 5 on FCAT, If you have advanced classes you could- Get more class selection ( Band, Chorus, Gym, etc.) In Advanced courses(if you stay in them through out middle school) you will earn high school credits, before you even pass middle school.

1st- Advanced Language Arts 2nd- Advanced Reading 3rd- Elective/ Wheel 4th- Advanced Science 5th- Geography 6th- Advanced Math 7th- Elective/ Wheel

15 ELECTIVES / WHEEL Art- you learn the basics of Art and drawing skills.
Health- you learn the basic parts of the body (Skeletal system, muscle system), and how different stimuli affect the body. General Music- you learn note names, and their locations on the staff. This is where you can audition for chorus. Gym- you learn team work and different sports Computer Applications – you learn how to use computer programs and do FUN projects FFA – Ag, animals, competitions, and more

16 Electives Band(6th-8th ) In Band you learn how to paly instruments and how to read notes, while playing, and watching the conductor Chorus(7th-8th) In Chorus you learn what each notes sound like, and how to sing them, while controlling your breathing Peer(8th) In Peer, you are a key part of a teachers day, you do errands, and help administrators. AVID (6th,7th,8th) In AVID you learn time management, organization, and how to make yourself more successful. It takes the middle of the road student and challenges them to meet higher expectations on their college bound path. It is a lot of work, but sets you on the right path for your future!
