JESUS TEACHING ABOUT GOD
“Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his ministry.” The Bible, in Luke 3:23, gives us that life-marker for Jesus. The four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) then go on to describe a three year ministry of Jesus. So we know Jesus died, rose and ascended into heaven at about age 33. ACTIVITY: Using Bible Gateway try to find the writings that tell us where Jesus began his teaching ministry. Choose two different versions of the same text and write them in your Religion Book. Reflect on what the differences are and why you think those differences occur.

Find an image of a religious symbol in Judaism. You can use the same website you used in the last lesson if you get stuck. Save the image into your religion folder in Google Drive. Import the image into Life. Make sure you that you label the symbol. TASK TWO Complete the same process as you did for the symbols but this time looking for images to represent a Jewish Holy day. Make sure that you label your image. EXTENSION Write information about the symbol in your religion book.

Mary in the Bible In pairs you will be given one of the Bible stories below. You must explore how they reveal Mary’s role as mother of Jesus and/or her role in the early church community. From Luke’s Gospel: 1:26-38, the Annunciation 1:39-56, Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth 2:1-7, the birth of Mary’s son Jesus 2:21-38, Mary takes Jesus to the Temple 2:41-52, Mary and Joseph lose Jesus during Passover in Jerusalem 4:16-30, Jesus is rejected at Nazareth 8:19-21, the family of Jesus visit him during his ministry. Mary You will create a triptych.
This week you will find the line or prayer you wish to use and draw the image. It will include: Left Panel: a line from a prayer about Mother Mary or from the Bible. Middle Panel: An image or icon of Mother Mary that you will create. Right Panel: Reflection- What does your chosen verse mean to you? How could you reflect Mother Mary on your life, actions and words? Click on the image to see some examples of depictions of Mary.

Mary and Jesus When Jesus was young Mary took care of him. Just like your mother takes care of you. Sometime when Jesus, just like you had moments when Mary had to take extra care of him.
