That is too much to really do in one hour, but the goal today is to show you some tools in Career Cruising you can use to conduct those searches as well as some additional tools that might be helpful

Do this activity where the kids who say “yes” stand in one spot and those who say “no” stand in one spot
Making the wrong choice is better than making no choice

These two images represent two different ways of approaching career/college planning.
Google Maps – Those people who prefer to have a clear goal and to know exactly what steps they have to follow to get there. Often feel that there is one right career/college for them. Uncertainty is really stressful for these students.
Choose your own adventure – These are the kids who have a less clear idea of what the end goal is. They would rather have experiences that inform their decisions about career and college. These students may be less likely to feel that there is only one right career for them. Feeling like they have to have all of the answers or be locked into one path already is stressful for these students.

What do I like to do and what am I good at?
How much money do I need to make
How much time am I realistically interested in and willing to spend in school after high school?
Depending on which of these questions strikes you as most important should determine how you approach this task;
Remember there IS NOT ONE PERFECT CAREER/COLLEGE option for you
