1. Schick 33 & SIDEXIS

2. Overview
Schick 33 functionality in SIDEXIS is part of the integration built for XIOS XG Supreme – Schick 33 sensors rebranded for sale outside the USA.
Integration requires:
SIDEXIS Version 2.56 – this is a patch for SIDEXIS 2. Offices not running SIDEXIS 2, must upgrade to this prior to installing the patch.
XIOS XG Plugin – this provides image enhancements and management tools for both Schick 33 and Schick Elite.
2.56 and the plugin provides access to the sharpen slider and task options seen within CDR DICOM 5, Patterson Imaging and Eaglesoft

3. Plugin Installation

4. If running from a CD, the setup will run automatically.
If running from a download, or if the CD does not start automatically, double-click on Autorun.exe within the route directory.
Select “Installing the device connection with USB Support”. Follow the further instructions
Once completed, you will be returned to the setup screen. Click Quit to close the Window.

5. Configuration

6. The Configuration screen allows the presets of the Schick 33 tasks and their respective sharpness slider defaults.
Once the plugin is installed, click on the the Start menu  Programs  SIDEXIS  SIDEXIS Manager.
Click on the XIOS XG Configuration button within SIDEXIS Manager

7. Two task have alternate names:
Click on the XIOS XG Supreme marker to access the Schick 33 task settings.
Two task have alternate names:
Universal = General Dentistry
Caries = Restorative
Within this window, the default Sharpness level, brightness and contrast for each task can be adjusted.
These settings can also be changed after the image is captured.

8. Image Capture

9. Open SIDEXIS
Open SIDEXIS via the desktop icon or through the start menu

10. New Patient Creation
Click on the “Register icon” in the top left of the SIDEXIS window.
Click on “New” and enter patient data

11. Retrieve Existing Patient
Click on the “Register icon” in the top left of the SIDEXIS window.
Select Patient list or type name into the “Search criteria” box

12. Select Exam Type Click the “+” icon to expand the list of Templates
Select the preferred template and click ok

13. Capture Image
The Template will appear on screen along with the capture window marking which tooth is ready to capture.
The Box on the right of the Capture Window will be green when ready to capture

14. Capturing a Single Image
Click on the Intraoral X-ray Exposure Button within the home screen

15. Tooth Selection
Select the desired tooth and click ok

16. Capture the Image
Activate the x-ray tubehead at your preferred technique factor setting.

18. Adjusting Schick 33 After the Image is Captured

19. To access the Schick 33 enhancement tools:
Click on the “IO” in the top right of an image
Click on the “Dynamic Image Sharpness Control” button
Or via the menu – “View”  “Dynamic Image Sharpness Control”

20. Select task and sharpness.
Click Apply
