A series of cattle trails about 800 miles long
Named after Scot- Cherokee trader Jesse Chisholm
After the Civil War, long horn cattle were abundant and herded along these trails to be relocated
Herds as large as 10,000 were driven from Texas to Kansas
After the Civil War, the value of long horn cattle declined. Why do you think this happened?
