Archimedes’ Principle

Density and Floating To find an object’s density, you need to know the object’s mass and volume. Density is the ratio of the mass of a substance to the volume of the substance. Mass per unit volume is Density. Density = Mass ÷ Volume Unit 6 (Ch. 14) Density/Buoyancy Bach 03/01/10

Determining Density First, find an object’s mass (kg or g), using a balance scale. Unit 6 (Ch. 14) Density/Buoyancy Bach 03/01/10

Second, find the volume of the object.
