4 Governmental Support Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army and Sudanese Government The Séléka-Central African rebel group (Ally/Enemy) -This relationship has been characterized as an alliance, and began in 1994 when peace talks failed between Uganda and Kony -This support from the Sudanese would end in 1999, but is thought to have continued for several years after -The Seleka have been in contact with kony since 2013 when they overthrew the CAR government -The leader of the seleka claimed he was in the process of negotiating kony’s surrender but made it clear that his government made supplies accessible to the LRA

5 No Support for the LRA In 2014, the LRA was said to be in “survival mode”, due partly to the continuing support of the Séléka. Funding and recruitment are nowhere near what is was some ten years ago, but the LRA still exists, and that is enough to tell us that they’re still active Today the LRA’s area of operations has extended deep into the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic, southern Sudan, and Sudan’s Darfur region comprised of only several hundred members using small arms and light weapons. Paraphrase Extend time
