Born in Saint John, NB. Built the first wind tunnel in Canada (1902). Inventor of the variable pitch propeller.

Elsie MacGill (1905 – 1980) First woman electrical engineer
Turned a railway boxcar factory in Thunder Bay Ontario into an aircraft manufacturing plant employed over 4000 workers, many of them female. Produced 23 Hawker Hurricane fighter planes each week during WWII
