4. Purpose and Need
City of Sarasota Downtown Masterplan (2001) and Connecting Downtown to the Bayfront Study (2010) recommended roundabouts to help eliminate the barrier of existing high-speed traffic on US 41 between Downtown and the Bayfront
Roundabout proposed to slow traffic and create a more comfortable environment for pedestrians and bicyclists
