2 The Truth: Yes it really does matter!
Do colleges and universities actually look at the second semester of your senior year? ABSOLUTELY! It is the reason for an official final transcript. They can rescind scholarship and admissions offers.

3 Graduation Requirements
Standard Diploma English 4 credits Health ½ credit Math 3 credits PE 2 credits Science 2 credits Computers ½ credit U.S. Hist. 1 credit U.S. Gov. 1 credit World Hist. 1 credit Electives 7 ½ credits Total 22 ½ credits* * This diploma does not prepare you for university admissions or 21st century expectations! Advanced Diploma (3.25 non-weighted GPA) S.S./Arts/Occ. 1 credit English 4 credits Health ½ credit Math 4 credits PE 2 credits Science 3 credits World Hist. 1 credit U.S. Hist. 1 credit U.S. Gov. 1 credit Computers ½ credit Electives credits Total 24 credits

4 Advanced Honors Diploma
Students will meet the requirements of the advanced diploma with a 3.25 un-weighted GPA, a weighted GPA and the following honors or AP courses: English 3 courses Foreign Language 1 course Math 2 courses Science 2 courses Social Studies 2 courses Elective Honors* 2 courses * Can be an honors course from any subject area

5 Graduation Recognition
Advanced Honors Diploma Advanced Honors – 24 credits, 3.25 unweighted and 3.85 weighted gpas’s, required 12 Honors classes White Cap and Gown with double blue cords Advanced Diploma 24 credits, 3.25 unweighted gpa, 2 extra semesters of math and science Royal blue cap & gown with double white cords Standard Diploma 22.5 credits Royal blue cap & gown Associate Degrees Students who are completing their Associate Degree Requirements in May will be allowed to wear their CSN Graduation Cap and Gown (Black) and will also sit on the Stage at Graduation

6 Graduation Recognition - Awards
Valedictorian – Highest Weighted GPA Salutatorian – 2nd Highest Weighted GPA High Honors (weighted GPA = 3.8 and above) Double gold cords Honors (weighted GPA = ) Single gold cord CSN Academic Honor Award (next slide) Powder blue cord Presidential Award for Educational Achievement 3.5 unweighted GPA 25 composite for the ACT or 1100 reading and math for the SAT Student Council Award 3.0 gpa, 30 hours of community service, 1 year of student council

7 CSN Academic Honor Award
Must have been enrolled at CSNHS for four semesters Must have completed 33 semester credits at CSN No failing grades or withdraws Cumulative CSN GPA of 3.5 or higher Powder blue cord at graduation

8 Cords All Cords MUST BE PURCHASED for $5 Each

9 End of Year Timeline May 8-14 – CSN Finals May 15 – CSN Graduation
6:00 PM at Thomas and Mack Line Up by 5 Purchase Cap and Gown at the Bookstore by May 12 May 19 – Senior Fines and Book Turn In May 19 – Graduation Procedure Presentations in US Gov’t Classes May 26 – Yearbook Signing Party May – Senior Final Exams May 31 – NHS Induction/Senior Awards Night at 6:00 PM in C133 June 1 – Senior Trip June 2 – Make-up Exams June 5-7 – Senior Check-out/Cap and Gown Distribution 10:00-1:00 June 9 – Graduation at the Orleans 9:00 AM (be there at 7:30)

10 Graduation Information
Friday, June 9 Orleans Hotel and Casino 9:00 AM Arrive by 7:45 AM Kids on stage arrive by 7:15 AM Please be serious about the dress code for graduation You will receive your cap and gown at senior check out in Mrs. Gonzalez’ office at Senior Check Out June 5-7 between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM You will automatically receive 10 graduation tickets with your cap and gown but may sign up for extra tickets for friends and family with Miss Annette

11 Senior Awards Night May 31st at 7:00 PM following the NHS Induction Ceremony in C133 Everyone is invited to celebrate each other! Semi-Formal Attire Special Recognitions , Department Awards and Scholarship Announcements I need College Acceptance Letters and/or Scholarship letters and/or SAR (FAFSA Student Aid Reports) by MAY 12 Thank You Video

12 Millennium Scholarship (Funded through June 30, 2018)
Must be a graduate from a Nevada high school. Must have a 3.25 weighted or unweighted GPA. Must have been a NV resident for two years of high school. Millennium equals $40 to $60 per credit at CSN. Millennium equals $60 per credit at Nevada State College. Millennium equals $80 per credit at NV Universities. No application - you hear from the State Treasury in late July. Be sure to send them a reply!

13 Millennium Core Requirements
4 years of English 4 years of math to include Algebra II 3 years of Natural Science 3 years of Social Science and History Any NSHE natural science course is accepted. Any NSHE math course with a number below 120 and above 93 may not be considered equivalent to Algebra II, but may count toward the four total years of math.

14 CSN Presiden’t Scholarship
$1500 per Semester Must Graduate from CSNHS with a 3.0 Available in the Summer for Summer grads ONLY Must complete FAFSA and select CSN as a school of choice FAFSA code I will automatically submit your name to CSN if you have a 3.0

15 Transcripts When we meet for credit checks: Review your transcript
Transcripts show all grades and credits earned Transcripts display your GPA and class rank Please take the responsibility to look carefully for any errors Keep in mind that your college grades also appear on your high school transcript MATH 181, 182, 183 and PSY 102, 203 and 204 get Bonus Points (weight)

16 Post Secondary Planning

Did you apply for scholarships at the colleges and/or universities that received your application? Did you submit your graduation application for AA, AS, and AB degrees from CSN? – Deadline is March 3
