What Is Big Data? We all leave digital footprints
Only a small percent of the world’s data is analyzed Helps to provide reliable insights Relies on cutting edge analytics technology We all leave digital footprints – when we go online, carry GPS-equipped smartphones, social media, etc. So we are all generating massive amounts of data. However, only a small percent of the world's data is analyzed, and the vast majority of that data comes to us as unstructured data. Big Data works on the principle that the more you know about anything or any situation, the more reliable you can gain new insights and make predictions about what will happen in the future. To do this, big data projects often use cutting edge analytics involving artificial intelligence and machine learning, so that they can learn to spot patterns much more quickly and reliably than humans.
