1 Year 8 Visit to the Rhineland 2015
15th June to 19th June 2015

2 Monday 15th June 06.00 Arrive at school to load coaches.
06.30 Departure for Dover. 09.25 Ferry time from Dover to Calais (P&O Ferries). 12.30 Approx. arrival in Calais. 19.30 e.t.a in St. Goarshausen. Quick check-in and then dinner.

3 Tuesday 16th June Each coach will be going on a different trip each day. Visit to Bonn and the Haus der Geschichte. Shopping time in Bonn. Fortress of Ehrenbreitstein for views of the Rhine, new aerial cable car. Koblenz, deutsches Eck to study the features of the Rhine.

4 Wednesday 17th June Marksburg castle, guided tour. Visit to Boppard:
Interviews. Chair lift. Visit to the vineyards.

5 Thursday 18th June Rhine cruise from St. Goarshausen to Rüdesheim.
Tour of Rüdesheim. Music museum. Shopping and interview time.

6 Friday 19th June 06.30 Breakfast. Immediate departure after breakfast.
17.40 Ferry from Calais to Dover. 20.00 e.t.a. CCHS (students will contact you by mobile phone if this changes).

7 Spending money Approx. £50.
Depends on how many presents/souvenirs your daughter wishes to buy. Money for extra drinks, ice-creams, postcards, stamps etc. They have responsibility for their own money and belongings. Please obtain Euros beforehand.

8 Clothing Comfortable shoes, no flip-flops or backless shoes.
No skimpy sun tops or very short shorts. Sun-block and sunglasses. Tops that will cover shoulders. Umbrella and waterproofs. Towels.

9 Accommodation Our address in Germany is: Hotel Erholung, Nastätter Str. 15, D St. Goarshausen, Germany

10 Food in Germany 3 course dinner in hotel.
Soup for starter, main meal (e.g. pasta, Schnitzel, chips) and pudding (e.g. apple or chocolate mousse). Breakfast buffet (cereals, bread, nutella, rolls, cold meats, cheese). Packed lunch for the day (a drink, 2 rolls, a chocolate bar and a piece of fruit).

11 Behaviour Abide by the school’s Code of Conduct, which was agreed and signed. Must obey all instructions given by staff at all times. This is very important for the health and safety of everyone and the successful organisation of the trip.

12 Project work Study of tourism in the area. Diary project in German.
Interviews. There will be time to do this while in Germany and students will be expected to continue to work on their projects on their return.
