Symptoms & Long Term Effects Treatment Pubic Lice Parasite “crabs” Close physical contact or using clothing , bedding or towels of infected person Intense itching in genital area Over the counter shampoos and creams.

Symptoms & Long Term Effects Treatment Chlamydia Bacteria Sexual contact with genitals, anus or mouth of an infected person Burning sensation during urination & some discharge Women: PID, ectopic pregnancies, sterility Men: Inflammation of the testicles, sterility Antibiotics

Symptoms & Long Term Effects Treatment Genital Herpes Virus (Related to virus that causes cold sores & fever blisters Sexual contact with genitals, anus or mouth of an infected person Painful blisters on the sex organs or mouth, flu-like symptoms. Rare – blindness No cure. Medicines are used to reduce outbreaks 10

Symptoms & Long Term Effects Treatment HPV Human Papilloma Virus Sexual intercourse Painless, warts on and around the genitals Increased risk of cancer of the mouth and genitals No cure. Warts can be treated with creams or burned, frozen by Dr. Vaccines are available 11

Symptoms & Long Term Effects Treatment Hepatitis A, B & C Virus Sexual intercourse. Shared needle used for drugs. Contact with feces. Jaundice, nausea, cramps, dark urine, extreme tiredness. Cirrhosis or cancer of the liver. No cure. Vaccinations are available for some strains.
