Math Support Tustin Unified School District

This is an overall picture of my position as TUSD Secondary STEM TOSA: All categories of items along the left I help to support, with an emphasis on math and science. When I first started in TUSD, I was a K-12 Math and Science TOSA, but most of my energy was focused on secondary math. Just this year, we shifted roles and I became the Secondary STEM TOSA. We have an Elementary STEM TOSA as well, and her and I work very closely together. For the purpose of our time together today, I will focus on what I do specifically to support math.

Secondary Math Teacher Leadership
I am a firm believer in building capacity in our teachers to lead the work we are doing with secondary math. Not only am I NOT the keeper of all knowledge, I don’t WANT to be. Over the past three years, I have built great relationships with many of our secondary math teachers, and that is the only way we have been able to move instruction forward (especially with no curriculum:)).
