1 Matter in the Horsehead Nebula
Presented by: Mr. Koufos

2 What is it? A nebula is a collection of gas and/or interstellar dust in space The nebula is either remnants of a supernova explosion or gravity-induced condensations of the gas. The horsehead nebula gets its name because the shape looks like a horse’s head.

3 What is it? Its scientific or classification name is Barnard 33.
It is located in the Orion constellation along with other nebulas, including the Orion nebula. About 1500 light years away from Earth

4 What Matter Makes it? The dark part of the nebula is interstellar dust (cosmic dust) Interstellar dust is composed of particles in space which are a few molecules to 0.1 mm in size. A big part in the formation of the universe. The red glow is ionized hydrogen gas that is excited to produce red light.

5 Future of the Horsehead Nebula
This nebula is already showing the formation of some stars. Will probably eventually create a few stars and possibly other objects.
