Curious but unsure; pains in the a$$; existential crises; potential; babysitters (lol); defiant; senioritis; hooligans; squirrely; ignorant; distracted and egocentric; investments; poor suckers; self-centered and short-sighted; confused and entitled; caring, intellectually aware, busy, engaged, individualistic, curious, independent; “I love high school kids”; over it; DEFINITELY entitled, smug; inspiring; passionate

4 Learning Targets To define teen angst.
To read articles about teen angst in groups in order to assess its social - or connotative - definition. To apply the concept of teen angst to our own lives and experiences.

5 Group Work Read your assigned article.
Write a 1-3 sentence summary in your journal. Discuss, and answer, these questions with your group: Do you AGREE with what this article is saying? Why/why not? What would you add to this article to make its message more complete? Being a teen yourself, how does reading an article like this affect you and your group mates? Does the writer “get it right?”

6 Quick Write– Teen Rebellion
After our discussion today, write 3-5 sentences in response to these questions: Is it fair to assume that most teens want to rebel, or are rebels themselves? Do you consider yourself to be rebellious? Why/why not? Does this concept of teen angst apply to you? How do you feel about the topics we’ve been discussing today?
