1 Major Academic Plan (MAP)
Associate in Arts and Sciences BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology (146 credits) Department of Engineering and Design College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Why study Mechanical Engineering Technology? Mechanical Engineering Technology is among one of the country’s high demand occupations and has one of the lowest unemployment rates. The current economy thrives on innovation, and mechanical engineers technology majors at the forefront of it, constantly developing not only new and exciting products, but also technologies that improve society and the world. Be part of the future! Career Opportunities Mechanical engineering technology is one of the broadest disciplines in engineering technology. A graduate with a BSMET can expect a wide range of options. Mechanical engineering majors are in high demand in the bio-mechanical field, aeronautics, energy transfer, robotics, automation ,composite materials, alternative energy to name only a few. Many of our graduates have started their careers with some of the major companies around the Northwest. Our graduates currently are employed in a wide range of geographically diverse companies in positions that vary from design, manufacturing, HVAC and supervision. A degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology will provide innumerable choices of rewarding jobs. EWU’s laboratory-intensive, applied program in Mechanical Engineering Technology will prepare you to have a seamless transmission into the workplace, regardless of your career choice.
