Renaissance: (Italian and Northern)
Italian Renaissance: a period of great cultural change and achievement that began in Italy during the 14th century and lasted until the 16th century Northern Renaissance: occurred in Europe north of the Alps (Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and England). Before 1497, Italian Renaissance humanism had little influence outside Italy.
